SIOUX CITY, IOWA [BOX SCORE | BRACKET]- In the 2026 NAIA Women’s Basketball National Championship Quarterfinal, the Dakota State (S.D.) Trojans outlasted the Georgetown (Ky.) Tigers 85–79.
The Trojans set the tone early, winning both of the first two quarters and taking a 48–37 lead into halftime after outscoring the Tigers 22–18 in the first and 26–19 in the second. Georgetown made its push coming out of the break, flipping momentum with a 26-point third quarter to trim the deficit to three heading to the fourth. Dakota State answered in the final period, edging the quarter 19–16 to close out the six-point win.
Dakota State finished with a 54–35 rebounding advantage over Georgetown. The Trojans also protected the paint, piling up 10 blocks, with Tabor Teel leading the way with six. Georgetown, meanwhile, shot better from deep at 42.9% compared to Dakota State’s 27.6%.
Teel led the Trojans with 16 points and 16 rebounds for a double-double, along with four assists. Caitlin Dyer also recorded 16 points on an efficient 5-for-7 shooting, plus three assists in the win. Cierra Watkins followed with 13 points and six rebounds. Off the bench, Ella Carstensen contributed 11 points and 11 rebounds, providing a second wave of physicality on the boards.
Dakota State had balanced scoring, with five players in double figures, and got meaningful bench production with 31 bench points.
For the Tigers, Anna Long recorded 21 points, hitting 4-of-7 from three, with four steals and three assists. Daysha Reid tallied 17 points with four from deep and three steals. Daisy Gale added 15 points and eight rebounds on the day. Addesa Miller provided a spark off the bench with 10 points.
With the loss, Georgetown is eliminated from tournament play and finishes the season 25-9.
Dakota State clinches a spot in the semifinals with the win, marking the program’s second appearance. The last time DSU was in the semifinals was in 2023. The Trojans will return to action on Monday, March 23, at 6 p.m. CT and will play the winner of Dordt (Iowa) and Saint Francis (Ind.).
